Wycombe a good Cup team

Wycombe have been in a fair share of cup upsets over the years.

In 2001 Lawrie Snachex took them to the semi finals after beating Harrow Borough, Millwall, Grimsby Town, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Wimbledon and Leicester City but lost 2 -1 at Villa Park in a great game against Liverpool.

As a non-League club they knocked out Newport County (3-1 in 1973), AFC Bournemouth (2-1 in a replay in 1974) and Colchester United (2-0 in 1985). The Isthmians also held First Division Middlesbrough to a 0-0 draw in 1975 at their old Loakes Park ground, one which sloped from side to side.

Wycombe tonight face a difficult AFC Wimbledon.
